Stale Bamboo HR Employee record? Get Reminded via Airtable

If a Bamboo HR employee record sits untouched too long, this n8n workflow catches it and has Airtable create a new record in Airtable as a reminder — nothing falls through the cracks.

difficulty Beginnersetup 30 minresult A hands-off n8n workflow where every relevant Bamboo HR employee record automatically reaches Airtable — create a new record in Airtable.
  1. 1

    Fetch Bamboo HR data

Add an HTTP Request node (or the native Bamboo HR node if you have credentials set up) and point it at the Bamboo HR API. Run on a Schedule Trigger and check employee record age. Add a Schedule Trigger before it if this recipe runs on a timer, or a Webhook node if Bamboo HR can push events directly.

  2. 2

Shape the data with a Set node

Add a Set node after the fetch step to pull out the fields you need — e.g. id, title (or name), status, and updated_at from the Bamboo HR employee record. This keeps the rest of the workflow clean and readable.

  3. 3

    Send it to Airtable

Add an Airtable node set to operation Create. Connect your token, pick the Base and Table, and map fields from the Set node.

  4. 4

    Activate and test

Click Activate in the top-right corner. Trigger a real employee record in Bamboo HR (or run the workflow manually against existing data) and confirm it lands correctly in Airtable. Once verified, this runs hands-off.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to code anything?

No. n8n is a visual, drag-and-drop builder. You connect your Bamboo HR and Airtable accounts, map the fields, and activate — no code required.

Where do I get my Bamboo HR API credentials?

In your Bamboo HR account settings, look for "API", "Developers" or "Integrations" and generate an API key or token. Paste it into n8n's HTTP Request node (as a header or credential) or the native Bamboo HR node if one is available.

Can this run on a schedule instead of in real time?

Yes — swap the trigger for a `Schedule Trigger` set to whatever interval fits (every 15 minutes, hourly, daily). The rest of the workflow stays the same.
