Auto-Backup Every Google News Article to HubSpot
Never lose a Google News article again — this workflow copies every new one straight to HubSpot, where it has HubSpot create or update a HubSpot record as a standing backup.
- 1
Fetch Google News data
Add an
HTTP Requestnode (or the native Google News node if you have credentials set up) and point it at the Google News API. Poll Google News for new articles. Add aSchedule Triggerbefore it if this recipe runs on a timer, or aWebhooknode if Google News can push events directly. - 2
Shape the data with a Set node
Add a
Setnode after the fetch step to pull out the fields you need — e.g.id,title(orname),status, andupdated_atfrom the Google News article. This keeps the rest of the workflow clean and readable. - 3
Send it to HubSpot
Add a
HubSpotnode set to the right resource (Contact/Deal), operationCreate/Update. Map the key field (usually email) and the rest from the Set node. - 4
Activate and test
Click
Activatein the top-right corner. Trigger a real article in Google News (or run the workflow manually against existing data) and confirm it lands correctly in HubSpot. Once verified, this runs hands-off.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to code anything?
No. n8n is a visual, drag-and-drop builder. You connect your Google News and HubSpot accounts, map the fields, and activate — no code required.
Where do I get my Google News API credentials?
In your Google News account settings, look for "API", "Developers" or "Integrations" and generate an API key or token. Paste it into n8n's HTTP Request node (as a header or credential) or the native Google News node if one is available.
Can I filter which items trigger this workflow?
Yes. Add an `IF` node after the Set node with a condition on any field (status, amount, tag, etc.). Wire the TRUE branch to the HubSpot step and leave FALSE empty to skip the rest.
