Add the Google Sheets Trigger node
Start with a
Google Sheets Triggernode — connect your Google account, choose theSpreadsheetandSheet, and setTrigger OntoRow Added. This fires the workflow the moment a new row arrives. - 2
Map the fields with a Set node
Add a
Setnode after the trigger to shape the data cleanly. Create fields: each column you care about, e.g.nameto{{ $json.Name }}andemailto{{ $json.Email }}— the column headers become the field keys. This turns the raw payload into tidy values your destination can use. - 3
Send it to Mailchimp
Add a
Mailchimpnode set to operationCreate/Updatea member. Connect your account, pick theAudience, setEmailfrom the Set node, and map merge fields likeFNAME. Set status tosubscribed. - 4
Activate and test
Click
Activatein the top-right of the canvas. Trigger a test row in Google Sheets, then confirm it appears in Mailchimp. Once it works, you're done — every new row now flows through automatically.

Do I need any coding skills to set this up?
No. n8n is a visual, drag-and-drop tool. You connect your Google Sheets and Mailchimp accounts, point the nodes at the right form/sheet/channel, map the fields, and activate. No code required.
Can I filter which rows get sent to Mailchimp?
Yes. Add an `IF` node between the Set node and the Mailchimp node with a condition (for example, only send when an amount is above a threshold or a field equals a value). Wire the TRUE branch to Mailchimp and leave FALSE empty to skip the rest.
Can I send each row to more than one place at once?
Absolutely. Branch the workflow after the Set node: connect it to multiple destination nodes so the same row lands in Mailchimp and, say, Slack or a spreadsheet simultaneously.
