New PostgreSQL row → Notion Instantly

The moment a new PostgreSQL row appears, n8n captures it and lets Notion create a new page in a Notion database — no manual checking, no missed items.

difficulty Intermediatesetup 15 minresult A hands-off n8n workflow where every relevant PostgreSQL row automatically reaches Notion — create a new page in a Notion database.
  1. 1

    Fetch PostgreSQL data

Add an HTTP Request node (or the native PostgreSQL node if you have credentials set up) and point it at the PostgreSQL API. Poll PostgreSQL for new rows. Add a Schedule Trigger before it if this recipe runs on a timer, or a Webhook node if PostgreSQL can push events directly.

  2. 2

Shape the data with a Set node

Add a Set node after the fetch step to pull out the fields you need — e.g. id, title (or name), status, and updated_at from the PostgreSQL row. This keeps the rest of the workflow clean and readable.

  3. 3

    Send it to Notion

Add a Notion node set to resource Database Page, operation Create. Connect your integration, pick the target Database, and map the Set-node fields to your database properties.

  4. 4

    Activate and test

Click Activate in the top-right corner. Trigger a real row in PostgreSQL (or run the workflow manually against existing data) and confirm it lands correctly in Notion. Once verified, this runs hands-off.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to code anything?

No. n8n is a visual, drag-and-drop builder. You connect your PostgreSQL and Notion accounts, map the fields, and activate — no code required.

Where do I get my PostgreSQL API credentials?

In your PostgreSQL account settings, look for "API", "Developers" or "Integrations" and generate an API key or token. Paste it into n8n's HTTP Request node (as a header or credential) or the native PostgreSQL node if one is available.

Can I filter which items trigger this workflow?

Yes. Add an `IF` node after the Set node with a condition on any field (status, amount, tag, etc.). Wire the TRUE branch to the Notion step and leave FALSE empty to skip the rest.
