PostgreSQL Row Updated? Auto-Sync It to HubSpot

Whenever an existing PostgreSQL row changes, this n8n workflow detects it and has HubSpot create or update a HubSpot record — keeping both tools in step automatically.

difficulty Beginnersetup 20 minresult A hands-off n8n workflow where every relevant PostgreSQL row automatically reaches HubSpot — create or update a HubSpot record.
  1. 1

    Fetch PostgreSQL data

Add an HTTP Request node (or the native PostgreSQL node if you have credentials set up) and point it at the PostgreSQL API. Poll PostgreSQL for row changes. Add a Schedule Trigger before it if this recipe runs on a timer, or a Webhook node if PostgreSQL can push events directly.

  2. 2

Shape the data with a Set node

Add a Set node after the fetch step to pull out the fields you need — e.g. id, title (or name), status, and updated_at from the PostgreSQL row. This keeps the rest of the workflow clean and readable.

  3. 3

    Send it to HubSpot

Add a HubSpot node set to the right resource (Contact/Deal), operation Create/Update. Map the key field (usually email) and the rest from the Set node.

  4. 4

    Activate and test

Click Activate in the top-right corner. Trigger a real row in PostgreSQL (or run the workflow manually against existing data) and confirm it lands correctly in HubSpot. Once verified, this runs hands-off.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to code anything?

No. n8n is a visual, drag-and-drop builder. You connect your PostgreSQL and HubSpot accounts, map the fields, and activate — no code required.

Where do I get my PostgreSQL API credentials?

In your PostgreSQL account settings, look for "API", "Developers" or "Integrations" and generate an API key or token. Paste it into n8n's HTTP Request node (as a header or credential) or the native PostgreSQL node if one is available.

Can this run on a schedule instead of in real time?

Yes — swap the trigger for a `Schedule Trigger` set to whatever interval fits (every 15 minutes, hourly, daily). The rest of the workflow stays the same.
