Auto-Route New Threads Posts to Slack

Every new Threads post is automatically classified and routed — n8n has Slack post an alert to a Slack channel, so the right person sees it without a manual handoff.

difficulty Intermediatesetup 30 minresult A hands-off n8n workflow where every relevant Threads post automatically reaches Slack — post an alert to a Slack channel.
  1. 1

    Fetch Threads data

Add an HTTP Request node (or the native Threads node if you have credentials set up) and point it at the Threads API. Poll Threads for new posts. Add a Schedule Trigger before it if this recipe runs on a timer, or a Webhook node if Threads can push events directly.

  2. 2

Shape the data with a Set node

Add a Set node after the fetch step to pull out the fields you need — e.g. id, title (or name), status, and updated_at from the Threads post. This keeps the rest of the workflow clean and readable.

  3. 3

    Send it to Slack

Add a Slack node set to operation Send Message. Connect your workspace, choose the Channel, and build the message Text from the Set-node fields.

  4. 4

    Activate and test

Click Activate in the top-right corner. Trigger a real post in Threads (or run the workflow manually against existing data) and confirm it lands correctly in Slack. Once verified, this runs hands-off.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to code anything?

No. n8n is a visual, drag-and-drop builder. You connect your Threads and Slack accounts, map the fields, and activate — no code required.

Where do I get my Threads API credentials?

In your Threads account settings, look for "API", "Developers" or "Integrations" and generate an API key or token. Paste it into n8n's HTTP Request node (as a header or credential) or the native Threads node if one is available.

Can this run on a schedule instead of in real time?

Yes — swap the trigger for a `Schedule Trigger` set to whatever interval fits (every 15 minutes, hourly, daily). The rest of the workflow stays the same.
