  1. 1

    Add the Webhook node

Start with a Webhook node — set the HTTP Method to POST and copy the generated webhook URL — this is the address you give to any external service that should send data. Set Response Mode to Last Node. This fires the workflow the moment a new event arrives.

  2. 2

Map the fields with a Set node

Add a Set node after the trigger to shape the data cleanly. Create fields: readable values from the payload, e.g. event to {{ $json.body.event ?? 'unknown' }} and message to {{ $json.body.message ?? JSON.stringify($json.body) }}. This turns the raw payload into tidy values your destination can use.

  3. 3

    Send it to HubSpot

Add a HubSpot node set to resource Contact, operation Create/Update. Connect your HubSpot credential, set the Email from the Set node, and map properties like firstname and company.

  4. 4

    Activate and test

Click Activate in the top-right of the canvas. Trigger a test event in Webhook, then confirm it appears in HubSpot. Once it works, you're done — every new event now flows through automatically.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need any coding skills to set this up?

No. n8n is a visual, drag-and-drop tool. You connect your Webhook and HubSpot accounts, point the nodes at the right form/sheet/channel, map the fields, and activate. No code required.

Can I send each event to more than one place at once?

Absolutely. Branch the workflow after the Set node: connect it to multiple destination nodes so the same event lands in HubSpot and, say, Slack or a spreadsheet simultaneously.
