Connect Webhook to Notion — Send Each New Event Instantly
This n8n workflow watches Webhook for a new event and automatically add it as a new page in a Notion database. Set it once and it runs 24/7.
- 1
Add the Webhook node
Start with a
Webhooknode — set theHTTP Methodto POST and copy the generated webhook URL — this is the address you give to any external service that should send data. SetResponse ModetoLast Node. This fires the workflow the moment a new event arrives. - 2
Map the fields with a Set node
Add a
Setnode after the trigger to shape the data cleanly. Create fields: readable values from the payload, e.g.eventto{{ $json.body.event ?? 'unknown' }}andmessageto{{ $json.body.message ?? JSON.stringify($json.body) }}. This turns the raw payload into tidy values your destination can use. - 3
Send it to Notion
Add a
Notionnode set to resourceDatabase Pageand operationCreate. Connect your Notion integration, select the targetDatabase, and map the Set-node fields to your database properties (Title, Email, Date, etc.). - 4
Activate and test
Click
Activatein the top-right of the canvas. Trigger a test event in Webhook, then confirm it appears in Notion. Once it works, you're done — every new event now flows through automatically.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need any coding skills to set this up?
No. n8n is a visual, drag-and-drop tool. You connect your Webhook and Notion accounts, point the nodes at the right form/sheet/channel, map the fields, and activate. No code required.
Can I filter which events get sent to Notion?
Yes. Add an `IF` node between the Set node and the Notion node with a condition (for example, only send when an amount is above a threshold or a field equals a value). Wire the TRUE branch to Notion and leave FALSE empty to skip the rest.
Can I send each event to more than one place at once?
Absolutely. Branch the workflow after the Set node: connect it to multiple destination nodes so the same event lands in Notion and, say, Slack or a spreadsheet simultaneously.
