Get a Daily Dropshipping Profit and Ad Spend Report in Telegram

An n8n workflow that each morning pulls yesterday's store revenue, product costs and Facebook plus TikTok ad spend, computes your true net profit and blended ROAS, and sends a clean one-glance report to Telegram — so you start every day knowing if you actually made money, not just made sales.

  1. 1

    Run early each morning

A Schedule Trigger set to Days at 6 AM ensures yesterday's numbers have settled. Reporting one day in arrears gives you clean, final figures rather than a moving target.

  2. 2

    Pull revenue and COGS

An HTTP Request to the Shopify API fetches yesterday's orders; a Code node sums revenue and, using your SKU cost lookup, computes total product cost and payment fees. This is the store side of the equation.

  3. 3

Pull ad spend from both platforms

HTTP Request nodes call the Facebook Marketing API and the TikTok Marketing API for yesterday's spend, and a Code node sums them into a total ad spend figure across channels.

  4. 4

Compute net profit and blended ROAS

A Code node calculates net_profit = revenue - COGS - fees - total_ad_spend and blended_ROAS = revenue / total_ad_spend. These two numbers are the ones that actually decide whether today you scale or cut.

  5. 5

    Send the report to Telegram

A Telegram node posts a tidy summary: revenue, ad spend (with the FB/TikTok split), COGS, net profit and blended ROAS, plus a red or green flag on profitability. You open your phone to the single most important status of your business.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I need this if the ad platforms show ROAS?

Facebook and TikTok each show their own ROAS in isolation, and both count revenue generously. Neither knows your product cost, payment fees, or the spend on the other platform. Your real number is blended: total revenue minus total ad spend across every channel minus COGS and fees. Only a combined report tells you whether the whole operation is profitable. Plenty of stores are 'profitable' in each ad account and losing money overall — this catches that.

How does it get ad spend from both platforms?

The Facebook Marketing API and the TikTok Marketing API both expose yesterday's spend by account or campaign. The workflow calls each, sums the spend, and combines it with store revenue. If you also run Google or other channels, add another API call and include it in the total — the report is only as complete as the channels you feed it.

What is blended ROAS and why does it matter more?

Blended ROAS is total revenue divided by total ad spend across all channels. Unlike platform-reported ROAS, it can't be double-counted or attributed twice, so it's the honest efficiency number. Watching blended ROAS and net profit together each day is how experienced dropshippers decide whether to scale, hold, or cut — it's the real scoreboard.

Why Telegram instead of a dashboard?

A dashboard is something you have to remember to open; a Telegram message arrives while you drink your coffee. For a metric you should check daily, push beats pull. The workflow can just as easily post to Slack or email — the point is the number finds you, every day, without a login.
