Google Workspace Event Updated? Auto-Sync It to Discord

Whenever an existing Google Workspace event changes, this n8n workflow detects it and has Discord post a message to a Discord channel — keeping both tools in step automatically.

difficulty Beginnersetup 15 minresult A hands-off n8n workflow where every relevant Google Workspace event automatically reaches Discord — post a message to a Discord channel.
  1. 1

    Fetch Google Workspace data

Add an HTTP Request node (or the native Google Workspace node if you have credentials set up) and point it at the Google Workspace API. Poll Google Workspace for event changes. Add a Schedule Trigger before it if this recipe runs on a timer, or a Webhook node if Google Workspace can push events directly.

  2. 2

Shape the data with a Set node

Add a Set node after the fetch step to pull out the fields you need — e.g. id, title (or name), status, and updated_at from the Google Workspace event. This keeps the rest of the workflow clean and readable.

  3. 3

    Send it to Discord

Add an HTTP Request node, set Method to POST, and paste your Discord channel webhook URL. Set Body Content Type to JSON with a content field built from the Set-node fields.

  4. 4

    Activate and test

Click Activate in the top-right corner. Trigger a real event in Google Workspace (or run the workflow manually against existing data) and confirm it lands correctly in Discord. Once verified, this runs hands-off.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to code anything?

No. n8n is a visual, drag-and-drop builder. You connect your Google Workspace and Discord accounts, map the fields, and activate — no code required.

Where do I get my Google Workspace API credentials?

In your Google Workspace account settings, look for "API", "Developers" or "Integrations" and generate an API key or token. Paste it into n8n's HTTP Request node (as a header or credential) or the native Google Workspace node if one is available.

Can I filter which items trigger this workflow?

Yes. Add an `IF` node after the Set node with a condition on any field (status, amount, tag, etc.). Wire the TRUE branch to the Discord step and leave FALSE empty to skip the rest.
