Weekly MySQL Report Sent to Email

A weekly n8n workflow rolls up all your MySQL rows from the last 7 days into a summary, then has Email send a notification email so your team never has to dig for the numbers.

difficulty Beginnersetup 15 minresult A hands-off n8n workflow where every relevant MySQL row automatically reaches Email — send a notification email.
  1. 1

    Fetch MySQL data

Add an HTTP Request node (or the native MySQL node if you have credentials set up) and point it at the MySQL API. Run on a weekly Schedule Trigger and fetch this week's rows. Add a Schedule Trigger before it if this recipe runs on a timer, or a Webhook node if MySQL can push events directly.

  2. 2

Shape the data with a Set node

Add a Set node after the fetch step to pull out the fields you need — e.g. id, title (or name), status, and updated_at from the MySQL row. This keeps the rest of the workflow clean and readable.

  3. 3

Add a Gmail node set to operation Send. Connect your Google account and set To, Subject and Message from the Set-node fields.

  4. 4

    Activate and test

Click Activate in the top-right corner. Trigger a real row in MySQL (or run the workflow manually against existing data) and confirm it lands correctly in Email. Once verified, this runs hands-off.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to code anything?

No. n8n is a visual, drag-and-drop builder. You connect your MySQL and Email accounts, map the fields, and activate — no code required.

Where do I get my MySQL API credentials?

In your MySQL account settings, look for "API", "Developers" or "Integrations" and generate an API key or token. Paste it into n8n's HTTP Request node (as a header or credential) or the native MySQL node if one is available.

Can I filter which items trigger this workflow?

Yes. Add an `IF` node after the Set node with a condition on any field (status, amount, tag, etc.). Wire the TRUE branch to the Email step and leave FALSE empty to skip the rest.
