  1. 1

    Add the Mailchimp Trigger node

Start with a Mailchimp Trigger node — connect your Mailchimp account, pick the Audience (list), and set the event to subscribe. This fires the workflow the moment a new subscriber arrives.

  2. 2

Map the fields with a Set node

Add a Set node after the trigger to shape the data cleanly. Create fields: email to {{ $json.data.email }}, first_name to {{ $json.data.merges.FNAME }}, and subscribed_at to {{ $now.toISO() }}. This turns the raw payload into tidy values your destination can use.

  3. 3

    Send it to Notion

Add a Notion node set to resource Database Page and operation Create. Connect your Notion integration, select the target Database, and map the Set-node fields to your database properties (Title, Email, Date, etc.).

  4. 4

    Activate and test

Click Activate in the top-right of the canvas. Trigger a test subscriber in Mailchimp, then confirm it appears in Notion. Once it works, you're done — every new subscriber now flows through automatically.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need any coding skills to set this up?

No. n8n is a visual, drag-and-drop tool. You connect your Mailchimp and Notion accounts, point the nodes at the right form/sheet/channel, map the fields, and activate. No code required.

Can I filter which subscribers get sent to Notion?

Yes. Add an `IF` node between the Set node and the Notion node with a condition (for example, only send when an amount is above a threshold or a field equals a value). Wire the TRUE branch to Notion and leave FALSE empty to skip the rest.

Can I send each subscriber to more than one place at once?

Absolutely. Branch the workflow after the Set node: connect it to multiple destination nodes so the same subscriber lands in Notion and, say, Slack or a spreadsheet simultaneously.
