RSS to Slack: Auto-Sync Every Feed item with n8n (No Code)

This n8n workflow watches RSS for a new feed item and automatically post a message to Slack. Set it once and it runs 24/7.

difficulty Beginnersetup 25 minresult A hands-off pipeline where every new RSS feed item is automatically post a message to Slack in Slack.
  1. 1

Add the RSS Feed Read Trigger node

Start with a RSS Feed Read Trigger node — paste the feed URL into the Feed URL field and set a polling interval (e.g. every 15 minutes). The node emits each new item once. This fires the workflow the moment a new feed item arrives.

  2. 2

Map the fields with a Set node

Add a Set node after the trigger to shape the data cleanly. Create fields: title to {{ $json.title }}, link to {{ $json.link }}, and published to {{ $json.isoDate }}. This turns the raw payload into tidy values your destination can use.

  3. 3

    Send it to Slack

Add a Slack node set to operation Send Message. Connect your Slack workspace, choose the Channel, and set the message Text to a summary built from the Set-node fields, e.g. New feed item: {{ $json.email }}.

  4. 4

    Activate and test

Click Activate in the top-right of the canvas. Trigger a test feed item in RSS, then confirm it appears in Slack. Once it works, you're done — every new feed item now flows through automatically.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need any coding skills to set this up?

No. n8n is a visual, drag-and-drop tool. You connect your RSS and Slack accounts, point the nodes at the right form/sheet/channel, map the fields, and activate. No code required.

Can I filter which feed items get sent to Slack?

Yes. Add an `IF` node between the Set node and the Slack node with a condition (for example, only send when an amount is above a threshold or a field equals a value). Wire the TRUE branch to Slack and leave FALSE empty to skip the rest.

Can I send each feed item to more than one place at once?

Absolutely. Branch the workflow after the Set node: connect it to multiple destination nodes so the same feed item lands in Slack and, say, Slack or a spreadsheet simultaneously.
