  1. 1

    Add the Stripe Trigger node

Start with a Stripe Trigger node — connect your Stripe account with your API key as a credential, then set Events to payment_intent.succeeded. Copy the webhook URL n8n shows and paste it into your Stripe Dashboard under Developers > Webhooks > Add Endpoint. This fires the workflow the moment a new payment arrives.

  2. 2

Map the fields with a Set node

Add a Set node after the trigger to shape the data cleanly. Create fields: amount to {{ $json.data.object.amount_received / 100 }} (cents to dollars), email to {{ $json.data.object.receipt_email }}, payment_id to {{ $json.data.object.id }}, and currency to {{ $json.data.object.currency }}. This turns the raw payload into tidy values your destination can use.

  3. 3

    Send it to Airtable

Add an Airtable node set to operation Create. Connect your Airtable token, pick the Base and Table, and map the fields from the Set node to your Airtable columns. Field names must match your table exactly.

  4. 4

    Activate and test

Click Activate in the top-right of the canvas. Trigger a test payment in Stripe, then confirm it appears in Airtable. Once it works, you're done — every new payment now flows through automatically.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need any coding skills to set this up?

No. n8n is a visual, drag-and-drop tool. You connect your Stripe and Airtable accounts, point the nodes at the right form/sheet/channel, map the fields, and activate. No code required.

Can I send each payment to more than one place at once?

Absolutely. Branch the workflow after the Set node: connect it to multiple destination nodes so the same payment lands in Airtable and, say, Slack or a spreadsheet simultaneously.
