Connect WooCommerce and Slack in n8n: each new order is captured and sent straight to Slack, in real time and completely hands-off.

difficulty Beginnersetup 30 minresult A hands-off pipeline where every new WooCommerce order is automatically post a message to Slack in Slack.
  1. 1

    Add the WooCommerce Trigger node

Start with a WooCommerce Trigger node — connect your WooCommerce store (URL + consumer key/secret) and set Event to order.created. This fires the workflow the moment a new order arrives.

  2. 2

Map the fields with a Set node

Add a Set node after the trigger to shape the data cleanly. Create fields: order_id to {{ $json.id }}, email to {{ $json.billing.email }}, total to {{ $json.total }}, and status to {{ $json.status }}. This turns the raw payload into tidy values your destination can use.

  3. 3

    Send it to Slack

Add a Slack node set to operation Send Message. Connect your Slack workspace, choose the Channel, and set the message Text to a summary built from the Set-node fields, e.g. New order: {{ $json.email }}.

  4. 4

    Activate and test

Click Activate in the top-right of the canvas. Trigger a test order in WooCommerce, then confirm it appears in Slack. Once it works, you're done — every new order now flows through automatically.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need any coding skills to set this up?

No. n8n is a visual, drag-and-drop tool. You connect your WooCommerce and Slack accounts, point the nodes at the right form/sheet/channel, map the fields, and activate. No code required.

Can I send each order to more than one place at once?

Absolutely. Branch the workflow after the Set node: connect it to multiple destination nodes so the same order lands in Slack and, say, Slack or a spreadsheet simultaneously.
