Auto-Backup Every Chargebee Invoice to Airtable
Never lose a Chargebee invoice again — this workflow copies every new one straight to Airtable, where it has Airtable create a new record in Airtable as a standing backup.
- 1
Fetch Chargebee data
Add an
HTTP Requestnode (or the native Chargebee node if you have credentials set up) and point it at the Chargebee API. Poll Chargebee for new invoices. Add aSchedule Triggerbefore it if this recipe runs on a timer, or aWebhooknode if Chargebee can push events directly. - 2
Shape the data with a Set node
Add a
Setnode after the fetch step to pull out the fields you need — e.g.id,title(orname),status, andupdated_atfrom the Chargebee invoice. This keeps the rest of the workflow clean and readable. - 3
Send it to Airtable
Add an
Airtablenode set to operationCreate. Connect your token, pick theBaseandTable, and map fields from the Set node. - 4
Activate and test
Click
Activatein the top-right corner. Trigger a real invoice in Chargebee (or run the workflow manually against existing data) and confirm it lands correctly in Airtable. Once verified, this runs hands-off.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to code anything?
No. n8n is a visual, drag-and-drop builder. You connect your Chargebee and Airtable accounts, map the fields, and activate — no code required.
Where do I get my Chargebee API credentials?
In your Chargebee account settings, look for "API", "Developers" or "Integrations" and generate an API key or token. Paste it into n8n's HTTP Request node (as a header or credential) or the native Chargebee node if one is available.
Can this run on a schedule instead of in real time?
Yes — swap the trigger for a `Schedule Trigger` set to whatever interval fits (every 15 minutes, hourly, daily). The rest of the workflow stays the same.
