Auto-Backup Every Harvest Time entry to Telegram

Never lose a Harvest time entry again — this workflow copies every new one straight to Telegram, where it has Telegram send a Telegram message as a standing backup.

difficulty Beginnersetup 30 minresult A hands-off n8n workflow where every relevant Harvest time entry automatically reaches Telegram — send a Telegram message.
  1. 1

    Fetch Harvest data

Add an HTTP Request node (or the native Harvest node if you have credentials set up) and point it at the Harvest API. Poll Harvest for new time entrys. Add a Schedule Trigger before it if this recipe runs on a timer, or a Webhook node if Harvest can push events directly.

  2. 2

Shape the data with a Set node

Add a Set node after the fetch step to pull out the fields you need — e.g. id, title (or name), status, and updated_at from the Harvest time entry. This keeps the rest of the workflow clean and readable.

  3. 3

Add a Telegram node set to operation Send Message. Connect your bot token and set Chat ID, then build Text from the Set-node fields.

  4. 4

    Activate and test

Click Activate in the top-right corner. Trigger a real time entry in Harvest (or run the workflow manually against existing data) and confirm it lands correctly in Telegram. Once verified, this runs hands-off.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to code anything?

No. n8n is a visual, drag-and-drop builder. You connect your Harvest and Telegram accounts, map the fields, and activate — no code required.

Where do I get my Harvest API credentials?

In your Harvest account settings, look for "API", "Developers" or "Integrations" and generate an API key or token. Paste it into n8n's HTTP Request node (as a header or credential) or the native Harvest node if one is available.

Can this run on a schedule instead of in real time?

Yes — swap the trigger for a `Schedule Trigger` set to whatever interval fits (every 15 minutes, hourly, daily). The rest of the workflow stays the same.
